Easter Basket Ideas with World Market

Hi friends! Easter is on its way – can you believe it?! We’re just getting into gear with all things Spring and Easter here on the blog and we’re so excited to kick off this bright and shiny time of year with fab Easter Basket Ideas with Cost Plus World Market! I’m guest blogging with World Market in the coming weeks, providing tips and steps to build AWESOME Easter baskets for your kids this year!

World Market really is one of my favorite places to shop, even more so when it comes to gift giving! With unique items from all over the world, Easter doesn’t have to be the SAME old thing every year. Today we’re sharing some fun ideas to think OUTSIDE the box when finding goodies for your kids! Where to start? Well I’m a BIG fan of themes. Have a girl who loves Paris? Create a basket full of Parisian goodies from World Market. Have a boy who’s into Dinosaurs? Create a Dino-riffic basket of toys, activities and candy – all dino-themed. A great theme is the start of a great Easter basket.

Easter Basket Ideas for Girls

Today we have a couple Easter Basket ideas that take advantage of these themes. Do you have a little one who loves baking? Then you could create a Little Baker Easter Basket! World Market has the latest in kitchen gadgets and gifts, even more so this time of year! The front of your local store will be chock FULL of amazing Spring colored baking supplies that are perfect bundled up as an Easter basket. Here, let us show you!

First, you don’t have to stick with a traditional basket. These Melamine Batter Bowls and Berry Baskets can hold your Easter basket goodies and serve a purpose for your Little Baker, too! World Market has a TON of great bowls and baskets that would work perfect for whatever you need.

Now that you have your adorable baskets, it’s time to get some grass! World Market also has a HUGE selection of Easter Grass and Gift Wrap to coordinate with any basket you choose. For our Little Baker basket, we went with bright aqua and green filler and lovely pink raffia to tie some of our items together.

Now on to the really FUN part. Once you have your basket and grass, it’s time to fill ‘er up! For the Little Baker gift I have to admit I shopped the Easter and Kitchen Sections of World Market for what seemed like hours. I could have really purchased everything that was there. Here is a little of what we picked up…

Ceramic Egg Cartons, Baker’s Twine, Silicone Mixing Spoons and a Whisk, Melamine Measuring Spoons, Chalkboard Clips, Cupcake Liners, Flower Sprinkles, Chalkboard Eggs – just a FEW of the things you could pick up for your Little Baker this year – all in the World Market Easter and Cooking and Baking areas.

I had a blast picking up all these fun gadgets and goodies. And now that we have the basket, grass and goodies, it’s time to build the basket!

To assemble a great basket:

  1. Fill your bowl or basket with your Easter grass or filler.
  2. Starting from the back, add your tallest items as a visual anchor.
  3. Then moving forward, add the rest of your items in descending size until you’ve filled your bowl or basket to the brim with all the goodies!

A little tip – with these types of baskets, many times it’s easier to take items out of their packaging, both for presentation and to maximize the space! We tied our paper straws together with our pink raffia and pulled the beautiful cupcake liners out of their bags to showcase their happy colors!

I just love the way our Little Baker Easter Basket turned out – do you? Do you have a little baker in your life who would love to receive one this Easter?

Easter Basket Ideas for Boys

Now, as a mom of boys, I may have had a little too much fun putting the Little Baker gift together. But in reality you know I’ll be planning for the boys this year! And World Market has the dudes in your life covered as well. Have you ever shopped the Toys and Games section of World Market? If you have – you know they have the most fun, retro toys around! Just one look at their selection and I knew that one great boy basket would be The Trickster. World Market has an amazing selection of Novelty Items that are perfect for the little joker in your life.

Hand buzzers, fake teeth, voice changers, water balloons, chocolate rocks – World Market has everything you need and more to make one AWESOME boys basket! Again, we have to start with the basket. This time around I went with a neutral basket with a little green and filled it with some natural colored filler. Nothing too over the top for the boys!

Assemble your Trickster basket in the same way as before:

  1. Fill the basket with your Easter grass or filler.
  2. Starting from the back, add your tallest items as a visual anchor.
  3. Then moving forward, add the rest of your items in descending size until you’ve filled your basket to the brim with all the goodies!

I have to admit that though I was smitten with the cuteness of the Little Baker, I wanted to PLAY with all the fun stuff in The Trickster! Remember those finger traps? I maaaaay have played with those for a bit. Oh and I definitely wore those glasses around the house for a little bit.

Now what do you think of The Trickster basket? Do you have any boys who would LOVE to get their hands on these goodies? I know I’m going to have to hide everything from MY boys here until Easter.

No matter who you’re shopping for this Easter, you can find everything you need and MORE at Cost Plus World Market! Hey, this won’t be the last time you see me shopping there this season. What fun themes can you come up with this year? I’d love to hear!
