PARK CITY, UTAH

After San Francisco we spent 9 days in Park City, a town and ski resort 30 minutes out of Salt Lake City. Perhaps you know it as the location of Sundance. Park City is a wonderland - a surreal desert landscape iced with snow and rich skiers.

As this was my first time skiing I spent the majority of it tumbling down shallow slopes, but the snow really isn't as hard as you think. Plus I was more padded than the Michelin man, and I think that helped.

I only made it to Salt Lake for half a day. We went to The Copper Onion (oh man that risotto) and Sunni's new shop A Fashionable Stitch. Maybe it's a good thing I had a certain someone looking over my shoulder oh so kindly reminding me about a mountain waiting to be skied (you know what it's like!) because I walked out with four delicious pieces of fabric and a few tools instead of, you know, everything. Although I'm kind of regretting not getting that ponte knit, or more rayon, or that stabilising tape, or… The spectacular range is unlike anything on offer in Australia; I really could have gone crazy in there. Or bankrupt.
