Holiday House
I know I’ve mentioned Holiday House and my affiliation with it here before and I was thrilled to hear that a lot of you were curious as to how you can personally get involved!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Holiday House, here are the deets: it’s a wonderful interior design show house founded by a family friend of ours, designer Iris Dankner, who also happens to be a sixteen year breast cancer survivor. Iris has made it her mission to raise funds for breast cancer research (they work closely with BCRF) and help to find a cure for this terrible disease. The event is held in the historic Academy Mansion on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (if you’ve yet to set foot inside, it will blow. your. mind.) and each room is decorated by a notable figure in the design world. If you’re into interior design, wandering the house is a wonderful way to support a worthy cause!
Which brings me to this week and how you can get involved!
This year, Iris decided to reach out to the next generation of designers and together we formed a young designer’s committee. I hope those of you based in NYC will join us this Wednesday night, December 4th from 5:30 – 7:30 for Author’s Night! Celebrity designers will be on hand to sign their beautiful design tomes (seriously good stocking stuffers, people) and it will be a great opportunity to check out the house if you haven’t done so yet. Tickets are $35 at the door.
