The New PEACE LOVE SHEA

Welcome to the new PeaceLoveShea.com !!!

We’ve been working on this redesign for months and it’s exciting to see it finally come to life.
I want to quickly explain a few new changes. The most exciting change (for me) is that there are now separate Beauty & Skincare and Health & Fitness sections which I’ll be updating on the reg. You can get to them in the navigation bar at the top of the page, or on the homepage there are special sections towards the bottom.
Another new feature: the photos in my posts are now in a click-through slideshow format. I really wanted each photo to be able to stand out on its own. You can click on the photos to make them larger as well!
For the shoppers: At the bottom of the post I’m going to try to always add a “shop a similar look” area where I’ve pulled things from around the web for you to recreate the look at all different kinds of price points.
Everything else is pretty self explanatory. Hope you all love it as much as I do.

So many incredible things have happened over the past 4 years. My life has changed in ways I could have never imagined. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support, kind words and encouragement. It’s been a dream come true to be able to do what I love, and I know I couldn’t do it without you.

From the small town girl who couldn’t have told you Dior from Valentino if I tried, who at one point worked 4 jobs (which included selling pies and wiping tables) and shared a small bedroom with another girl just to make ends meet.
I never had a handout. I know what it’s like to work hard and there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for what I have now. When I started my site 4 years ago most of the population didn’t even know what a blog was. I was working full time for a denim designer, interning for a stylist, and working weekends at a bar to pay my rent. Then I made a decision I suggest no one make- I decided to quit my day job, work 5 nights a week at a nightclub and spend my days focusing on my site. Everyone thought I was crazy.
I mean here I was, an A student who had just spent 10s of thousands of dollars going to university and I just quit the only stable(ish) job I had to work on a “website” about what I was wearing and what inspired me. I sounded like a lunatic, and in the beginning a bit of a disappointment to everyone who had such high hopes for me.
But I get it. I’m a realist so this kind of move was out of my character. I have a hard time believing in luck and fate. I believe in working hard for what you want and creating your own destiny.
It’s been a wonderful, interesting and at times difficult journey. People can be mean, judgmental and non-accepting of change. It’s been a slow but gradual transition to where I (and I’m sure my colleagues would agree) feel appreciated and respected in the fashion world. Much of this is thanks to all of you.
Today, I run my own company and a top fashion site read around the world. My blog is just a small (but favorite) part of what I do on a day to day basis. I’m a journalist, a stylist, a fashion consultant, an editor, photographer, soon-to-be designer (shh!) and sometimes even a model. I’ve been able to work with the most amazing brands, fashion houses, editors, journalists, you name it. I’m surrounded by a world of inspiring people but I bring with me the things I’ve learned along the way. If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it. And most importantly, work hard and be nice to people.
