Healthy Homemade Party Dips

I have a great home so love to host parties and BBQs for my friends whenever I’m in town, especially in the summer, and when I have time, I love making my own appetizers. These are two healthy, easy and delicious dips to make. Even though I might be able to buy a similar dip at the market, they always add so many unnecessary unheard of ingredients. As far as eating healthy goes- homemade is always better! Don’t even think of going to the grocery store to buy some unhealthy, fat and salt loaded spinach dip for your next summer outing if you want to be bikini ready. Take a little extra time and do this instead!

Avocado Hummus Dip

What you’ll need:
1 can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1 avocado
2-3 T lemon juice
2 cloves garlic
1/4 C olive oil
fresh cilantro
salt
pepper
tabasco sauce (optional)

Rinse and drain the garbanzo beans. You can also pick off any loose skins off at this time.

Place beans in a food processor. Add the garlic and lemon juice. Drizzle on some olive oil and pulse.

Add avocado and blend some more.

Add some fresh cilantro, salt, pepper, and tabasco if you’d like a little heat. Blend until creamy. Taste and and add more seasonings if necessary.

Tuscan Bean Dip

What you’ll need:
1 can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
2 T lemon juice
1/4 C olive oil
2-3 cloves garlic
fresh basil
salt
cracked pepper
1 tsp. balsamic vinegar

Rinse and drain Canennilli beans. Pick off loose skins

Place beans in food processor. Add garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. Pulse and blend. Add some basil leaves and blend until creamy.

Add salt and pepper to taste, then add about 1 tsp of balsamic vinegar.

Add your favorite fresh vegetables for dipping.
