A few days Sebastien sent me this beautiful painting he had done for me and it gave me an idea for an alien makeup tutorial. I have done one of these before but this one I wanted to be a little more colourful.
Of course once I started applying the makeup it veered in a totally different direction and ended up looking nothing like Sebastien’s beautiful painting, and there were rhinestones involved (of course).
Normally I try and experiment with my backgrounds to make the video a little more interesting, so this week I use some plastic wrapping I had saved up (seriously, you never know when it’ll come in handy) and draped it over a table lamp I had set up behind me.
For the photos to get that “moving-through-space’” look I selected just the plastic sheet on photoshop, duplicated it on another layer, increased the brightness and then added a directional blur. Simple but looks pretty amazing! A little like space rain.
And that’s my alien makeup look. I really have to do a review on the Illamasqua foundation at some point though, it’s is hands down the best white foundation I have ever used, and trust me that list is loooong! Sure there are some drawbacks, like most products. But I’ll get to that once I’ve done the review.
