One of the things I look forward to most during the holiday season is watching movies with family. We have many classic favorites but are always looking to find new ones to add to the collection. We just added a new one that I really like.

Coming Home For Christmas is a story about two sisters who have a falling out causing a wedge in their relationship, as well as their parents. As their parents struggle with the family being broken apart, they begin to consider calling it quits. The sisters put their past behind them and reunite in hopes that having a family Christmas together for the first time in years will bring their parents close again.

The movie is easy to relate to, and realistically shows the struggles of family life as well as the ability of Christmas to bring people back together. There is a fun love story intertwined as well, and a good helping of joyful singing. I'm usually a pretty tough critic when it comes to family-friendly wholesome movies and their tendency to be a bit overly cheesy - but I was pleasantly surprised by this film.

I love finding movies that I can watch with my daughter in the room with no worries of her being exposed to something inappropriate unexpectedly. This is a Christmas movie that the whole family will enjoy. Zion really loved watching it with me, and I was caught by surprise when she asked me to "pause" it when she took a bathroom break, because I honestly didn't think she'd be so into a non-animated film.
