Illamasqua Glamore Collection

You can always rely on Illamasqua for a pop of colour – even when it comes to an all pink collection. This is a little look at a couple of the products in the Illamasqua Glamore Collection – it’s been out for a few weeks now, but with the sunshine making an appearance it seems to be a good fit for the bright and sparkly shades of Glamore. Especially that stunner of a pink lip shade…

These lipsticks are not for the faint hearted – both shades are proper stand-out colours. With Soaked the orange toned red, and Luster, the blue toned bright pink. Neither is the sort of lip product you will be finding in the make-up bag of a wall flower. These (and the third lipstick in the collection – Glissade) are all ‘Satin’ finish, meaning they’re a bit silkier and softer than the usual Illamasqua lipsticks which are often hot on pigment, maybe not so hot on mositurising…and best left to those without lips of of the chapped variety (like mine…). These are a bit more moisturising, and therefore a bit more forgiving. I was really chuffed to find these two shades in the bag I took home from the launch a few weeks ago as they were definitely the two products that caught my eye from the collection the most. Of course, you could always dab on and blend with some balm if you wanted to soften the colour a bit…but why on earth would you want to do that?!

Then of course there’s the nail colours – with the two shown here being Trilliant (pale champagne pink) and Marquise (hot-orange-red). Whilst Marquise is a stunning colour, it’s not really one that works for my skintone – but can see this looking awesome with a tan. Trilliant on the other hand is a total love for me – I love the shade, and if it wasn’t for glitter being such a pain to remove I’d be wearing it weekly. But this subtle champagne/pink shade is very pretty and I love the slightly matte finish with the sparkle – gives it that little bit extra edge and keeps it out of ‘pretty princess nails’ territory.

The Illamasqua Glamore Collection is about as girly as Illamasqua get – covering the essentials from the classic red lip, to the sparkly pink nail. For me, it’s the lipsticks that are the stand-outs from the collection with Soaked being my favourites. I’m loving orange toned reds for Spring.

Illamasqua is available from ASOS (nails £15, lipsticks £16.50)
