Super Facialist By Una Brennan Face Scrub

I’m lucky enough to be generally out of the whole ‘hormonal break out’ phase of skincare (downside is now more into the whole ‘fine line and wrinkles’ bracket’, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get the odd spot or flare up – or just feel like my skin needs a good deep cleanse. Especially recently where I have been somewhat abusing my skin with indulgence of a weekend away for a hen do, followed by birthday celebrations, wedding food tasting, wine tasting etc… you get the picture. My skin needs a bit of a detox, so along with drinking my body weight in water I have been reaching for this scrub a couple of times a week to help give it a bit of a refresh.

Previously I’ve used a few Una Brennan products and have been really impressed – especially with the rose hydrating oil and mask. But the anti-blemish range isn’t normally my sort of skin, but thanks to the abuse as listed above I felt it was handy to have a few deep cleanse tricks up my sleeve. The scrub itself is really creamy and has lots of ‘scrubby bits’ but doesn’t feel too harsh. Whatever your skintype I wouldn’t suggest using this sort of physical exfoliation more than a couple of times a week at most as whilst it feels fairly gentle when using it, it is in practice still quite a rough sort of exfoliation to use.

This for me is one of those products I would like to always have around for hangover/tired days – as a proper wake-up refresh for the morning after. This combined with a good brightening serum and decent day cream (and eye cream) can hide a whole manner of sins. I can’t really vouch for the anti-blemish side of things, but I can definitely say that my skin felt really cleansed and refreshed after use and definitely a little less oily in the t-zone area.

There’s also a mask in the range that I will have a little chat about soon too.
