Mavala Summer Collection

How pretty a collection is this? Maybe it’s just me but it totally appeals to my ‘colour palette’ taste – if that’s even a thing. Who knows, all I know is I love the blues, and golds with lilac-tinged nudes and caramels. Gorgeous stuff. This is the Mavala Summer Collection (well, five out of six of the shades – there’s an orangey red missing from the bunch – but to be honest I quite like them without it.

The only thing I have an issue with when it comes to nail collections (and this is all collections – not any one in particular) is when all the colours looks o nice together but it’s not really the done thing to wear all of them. I guess where there are give shades like this I could go slightly crazy and have one on each nail, but it just doesn’t quite have the same impact. Although I can definitely see a few combos from these five working well as the whole accent nail thing – perhaps Treasure as the accent nail with Sky Blue or Orchid Mauve on the others? Or Wind Breeze with Treasure on the tips or half moons maybe for an alternative french manicure or simple nail art. Or keep it simple and go one colour for hands and one for toes.

Formula wise, I can’t think of a time I’ve tried a Mavala polish and not been impressed – they’re very consistently good quality. The brushes are easy to work with and the tiny bottles lend themselves well to on-trend colours as you can purchase without any guilt of leaving it unused after a use or two as a season passes.

For me, my favourite shades from this collection are Sky Blue, Orchid Mauve and Treasure (in that order!). Sand Rose is one that looks a bit ‘meh’ in the bottle, but is more interesting when applied as has a hint of shimmer to it. My least favourite is Wind Breeze, purely because it doesn’t suit my skintone.
