Benefit Majorette

Being a self-confessed beauty junkie, there are a few things in the beauty world that I have a definite weakness for. One being blushers. Another being Benefit. Yet another being cream blushers. On the Benefit front, my favourite from them is the blush boxes – each and every one they have launched has worked in some way for me. With Hervana, Sugarbomb and Coralista being my favourites. Cream blush from Benefit is kinda a new thing though – the idea being with the new Benefit Majorette is that you can wear the peachy coloured cream to powder blush alone. Or you can use it as a base for your favourite blush box to give the colour a bit of a boost (or any other powder blusher to be fair…not limited to Benefit). For this review I am focussing on it as a stand along though – as this is how I’ve been using it.

So the packaging is about as cute a packaging design as I’ve seen. It feels very solid. Has a nice magnetic closing function – which feels strong enough to withstand being chucked in a bag. The lid has an ok-sized mirror. The only niggle with the packaging has to be the size – it’s not the most compact and for a single product is a tad bulky for day to day carrying around. I mean, it’s not impossible to do by any means – but there are more handbag-friendly blushers out there.

Texture wise, it’s as light as a feather. It almost doesn’t feel like a cream to powder – especially if you apply with a brush. It delivers a wash of colour that is easily a sheer wash or a more intense flush if you want to build it up. I can see how this works as a stand-alone blush better on paler skin that it would on darker shades though – where maybe it might be good as a booster instead of just blush.

For me, I love the colour – I feel it gives me a natural looking healthy glow and I love how it applies. The brush I’ve been using is just one for normal blusher, with fairly stiff bristles to help it pick the cream formula product up more evenly than a softer brush would. I find this works better with this formula as fingers would just be too soft I think and make it harder to get even. A brush works a treat though.

Basically, I’m loving this to fake a healthy glow – lovely addition to the blush range Bene-babes, thank you!
