October Glossybox 2014 Pop Art Edition (Plus Get a FREE Glossy Box!)

I’ve been out of the beauty-box look since the Summer a little bit. But I’m back on-it with a little look at this month’s Glossybox contents. This month’s October Glossybox 2014 is a special edition subscription, with a pop-art theme and ‘collectors edition’ box. It’s full of colour and as you can see if you scroll down the pictures – emblazoned with a pop-art style cartoon image. But, as nice as a pretty box is…when it comes to a beauty box, it’s all about what’s in it! So let’s take a closer peek…

This months contents are quite a mixed bag between makeup, skincare and body. This gets a big thumbs up from me – I like a variety of stuff, so seeing something for nails, makeup, fragrance and skincare…all very positive so far.

There’s a creamy purple Ciate nail varnish called ‘Talent Scout’ – love this shade and love that it matches the hair of the pop-art illustration. Ciate nail varnishes are pretty good quality and this is full size – so definitely a big tick for this one.

Then we have a soothing and hydrating face mask from NUXE – again, I love a decent size of product and a hydrating mask is always going to be a winner. It’s good to see a brand that is quite a ‘household name’ as such as previously lots of skincare has been smaller, up and coming type brands. Not that this is a bad thing as part of the point of a beauty box is discovery – but it is refreshing to see a ‘big’ name on the skincare front in there.

Make-up wise we have two things – a diddy little Matte BB Cream (shade ‘light’) from Rimmel London and a mascara from So Susan. Both fun pieces, but maybe not the ones I am most excited about…

As for excitement, the Etre Belle Liplift Peel has that one covered. This is a super-fine scrub, designed for the delicate lip area. It’s lovely to see something with a bit of a twist in there and ahead of the typically-chapped-lips-season months is a welcome addition. This is my favourite bit from this months box!

Last but by no means least we have a little bottle of perfume from Yves Rocher – a cute bottle and smells super-sweet. Maybe not my personal taste, but a nice alternative to the miniscule fragrance vials you often find in beauty boxes as it’s a good size (perfect for travel!).

Overall – a rather fun and fabulous box!
