My Business Cards for Alt Summit

All right. So I am going to this event called Alt Summit next week. It’s essentially a professional blogger conference…and I am feeling a lot of “feelings” about it for lack of a better term (leave it to the psychologist not to think of a better word for the word “feelings.” That is how conflicted I feel! LOL!)

What I am Feeling:

- So I am NERVOUS because I know NO ONE who is attending. It is college all over again. Without the Jungle Juice. I am shy people! I am going to make my own damn jungle juice to get through this me thinks.

- I am EXCITED because Alt Summit is a great place to learn more about blogging. I know I’ve been doing this for over 2 years now, but I hardly consider myself totally competent. I have so much to learn.

- I am ELATED because I booked a room by myself. I know, I know…how very anti-social of me. But momma has not had a night away by herself since Cooper has been born. I am going to do my P90x3 workouts in my room jump on the bed sing Ke$ha songs using a blow dryer and only wearing socks and order room service “just because.” I also hope I make it to the conference.

Apparently business cards are important at this conference (if you google “Alt Summit Business Cards” you will be bombarded with what I can only describe as an inordinate amount of amazing business cards…pretty much porn for the craft/design world). I am NOT crafty. I have many skills (like singing Ke$ha songs and ordering room service) but handling a hot glue gun is sadly not among them.

So I asked myself, “Self…what would you like in a business card?”

My answer – “A hair band!” Because I am ALWAYS looking for one and I can never find one. So BOOM. I threw that bad boy into my design.

I won’t be winning awards, but I am semi-proud to hand them out. After I have a glass or three of jungle juice.

xo – Marion
