Distressed

Years and years and years ago when I first began overhauling Benson's wardrobe, the best fitting and cheapest pair of jeans I found for him were distressed jeans...which he scorned. "WHY would you buy jeans that already have holes in them?!?!" Eight years later, his tune still hasn't changed. (Never mind the fact that he loOOooooOoved those jeans, despite their holes.)
This pair isn't heavy on the distressing. Just a couple of rips, but it's one of those things where tiny details like that make a huge difference. To me, at least. If you've been reading for a while you might be sick of hearing about how I usually try to "toughen up" lace. My go-to's for doing so: cargo jackets or faux leather pieces. (Evidence here, here, and here.) But I've now discovered another way--distressed jeans! I tried this outfit with non-distressed jeans, and it was fine. Just pretty fine. But jeans with two little rips? I was delighted at the character they gave the outfit! And now I have another way to wear lace without feeling too girly!
Would you wear distressed jeans? Or are you like my husband--"Why would you buy jeans with holes in them?!"
