Feedburner Tips & Tricks: Title & Description Burner

Welcome to The Nitty Gritty of Blogging: Feedburner, Part Two! This week I’m sharing a series of Feedburner tips and tricks that will help you to get the most out of this powerful little tool.

If you missed my first series on Feedburner, you can find all of the posts on my Nitty Gritty of Blogging home page. These tips require you to already have your Feedburner account set up and active. If your account is not set up yet, hop over to my first post on how to set up Feedburner, and follow those steps. Then come back here. Are you back? Great. Moving on!

Yesterday I showed you an easy way to allow your feed/email subscribers to share your posts, with Feedburner FeedFlare. Today I’m going to show you how to add a title and a description to your feed.

Your feed may already be exactly what you want it to be (such as your blog name), but you may want your feed title to show up differently.

Go into your Feedburner account, click on your feed, and click the optimize tab. On the left hand side, you’ll see a list of options. Near the bottom is “Title/Description Burner.” Click it.

In the “New Title” box, enter the title you want for your feed. You can also add a description, in the “New Description” box, which will also show up in some feed readers, under your feed title.

Click activate to update your feed, and you’re good to go!

Next up, add an image to your feed!

Head back to my full list of Feedburner tips!
