Tassel Necklace | DIY

I'm a necklace wearing kind of girl, so I always love finding and making new necklaces: dainty and statement ones. Here is a little tutorial on how to make your own tassel necklace with thin metal, leather and embroidery thread.

Materials: Thin metal (I found mine at Hobby Lobby), Coarse sand paper, Gold spray paint, Leather chord, crop-o-file or heavy duty hole punch, embroidery thread, jewelry clasp, jump rings, jewelry pliers, heavy duty scissors or metal clippers.

Steps: First, draw out the shape you want your metal to be by folding a piece of paper in half and drawing half the shape out. Cut out your paper and trace the shape onto your metal using a sharpie. Cut out your shape with heavy duty scissors, be very careful- the metal is sharp! Sand the edges of your metal with the sand paper. Spray paint your metal and let it dry. Punch holes at the corners of your "moon" shape and then punch nine holes along the edge of the shape. Make nine tassels by wrapping embroidery thread around two finders and tying a knot at the top. Tie all of your tassels to your shape by securing them through the holes you punched. Using your pliers, attach your jump rings to the two corner holes. Pinch down the sides of your clasps on the leather and attach to the rings. Do this again to the end of the leather and then add a clasp.
