LASH EXTENSIONS: My Experience & Tips

Full, fluttery, voluminous, sexy eyelashes are something that I have never had and probably will never naturally have without the help of some medicinal glaucoma eye potions and other similar witchcraftery. Maybe it's because of the monolids, maybe it's sub-par lash genetics, but I've faced the fact that no amount of curling and plumping will make them the fluttery beauties I wish they were.

Enter eyelash extensions. While applying eyeshadow on my friend Amy, I noticed how poppin' her lashes were! No mascara, no eyeliner, no glues or strips or mascara to speak of. At that moment I decided I must test it out for myself.

Eyelash extensions are something that I've been curious about for a really long time, so I wanted to make sure I shared my experience as well as the tips I've gathered to get the most bang for your butterfly kisses.

In this video I'm not wearing any eye makeup whatsoever so you can get the best idea of what it looks like on me alone:

I want to start at the very beginning, a very good place to start. Here are my cute baby lashes au naturale. As you can see, they are short and on the thinner side but not totally sparse.

This is actually after my first failed set (which I talked more about in the video). I only had a few sparse, sad extensions hanging on for dear life. The good thing is you can see how each lash extension is glued onto each real lash one-by-one. It's a long 2-hour long process so be prepared to possibly fall asleep.

And.... TADA! Here's the final set. So much fuller and fluffier!

My whole lash experience was overall a positive experience but I would say that due to the upkeep, I'm not sure I would do them more then a couple times a year, refilling once or twice. It's so nice to have gorgeous lashes as soon as you wake up but I definitely missed using waterproof products.

As I mentioned before, I went much more in depth in the video including care tips so if you are thinking of getting extensions yourself, definitely check it out!

Readers, have you had extensions done? What was your experience? Do you have any favorite products to use with extensions? Let me know in the comments!
