Trying something new...

... and I'd love to hear what you think! Now that I have a better camera, I want to take some different pictures as well. I still have plenty to learn about this cam though, and I get failed shots fairly often simply because I'm using the wrong settings, lol. But I hope to start a short photography course in a few months, yay! :) And the better I understand this cam, the more I think I'd like to take things up a notch and vary a little with my photos! So this is a big post to try out some stuff: bigger pictures, a macroshot, a bottleshot, a few pics in my usual way and some more pics with flowers. This was my first attempt like that and I wouldn't do that every time (or well, the macro/bottleshots I would show with swatches if you'd like to see that?), but I think it can look great to have a little something extra in a photo besides the nails, like the flowers today. What do you think? :)

Dance Legend #05 Лебёдушка.

This polish is from the Anna Gorelova collection by Dance Legend, it's a beautiful babyblue texture with golden shimmer, and I absolutely love it! What I didn't love as much though, was the amount of coats needed. I think 3 would be sufficient - if you apply thicker coats. But with textures I always apply thin coats to help with the drying, and I ended up using 4 coats. That did give a lovely textured result though, not too coarse, not too fine, just perfect for this color!

I have to say, it was well weird to take photos like this and trying to not squish the flowers as if they were a bottle, haha! Poor bees were wondering what I was doing to their beloved flowers, and my cat Dewey was lying in the shade looking at me like I was a complete nutcake, that didn't help either :D Bonuspoints if you know what plant this is! ^^

Below would be my usual shots, but then a little bigger. The polish definitely looks matte, but the soft golden sparkle adds a nice shimmery touch to it!

And here's a bottleshot, showing the golden shimmer as well. It's too bad that it needs a few more coats, but what a beauty nevertheless ♥
