Orly Holiday 2014 Sparkle Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was good, I did a lot of house shopping. Not sure if I've mentioned it here yet or just on Twitter but I made an offer on a condo and the seller accepted it! It's been in escrow for a week now and I've started looking for things I'll need like a couch and fridge. If all goes well I'll be a homeowner on 11/12...so fingers crossed!

Today I have Orly's Holiday Collection called Sparkle to share with you. I didn't plan on getting the whole collection, only Mirrorball, but the store I found them in only had them available in the set so I got all 6. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Bling is gold shimmer and gold holographic micro glitter in a clear base. This is much too sheer to wear on its own in my opinion but its one that will look great over pretty much anything. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had great glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Milani Modern Rouge for the photos below.

Shade
Explosion Of Fun is fuchsia glitter, holographic glitter and blue/purple shimmer in a clear base. I like the glitter of this one but I had issues with it separating so it seems like Orly didn't use the base that could really hold up the glitter properly. If you don't mind giving this a good shake before applying it then it's a nice polish. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had really nice glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Sally Hansen Pinky Promise for the photos below.

This is what I was talking about with the separation. It would happen very quickly, like within 5 minutes of shaking and applying the polish.

Glitter bomb is multicolored glitter in various sizes in a clear base. Nothing to write home about but its a nice glitter if you don't already have something similar. I did have issues with the glitter sinking in this one also. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Sally Hansen Grey Matter for the photos below.

Mirrorball is a silver linear holo sprinkled with holographic glitter. This is the polish I had been wanting from the collection and boy...it did not disappoint! This is the best polish Orly has done in a while...I hope other mainstream brands do similar polishes! The formula was good, it was a touch sheer but built easily and was opaque in 3 coats.

Tinsel is green bar glitter, red hex glitter and red shimmer in a clear base. The formula was ok, you do have to be patient with application because the bar glitter liked to clump together. I used 1 dabbed coat over Sally Hansen Creme de la Creme for the photos below.

Steal The Spotlight is teal micro glitter and light pink hex glitter in a clear base. This is one that you might be able to get opaque on its own with 3-4 coats. The formula was a little thick but easy to apply with good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Sally Hansen B Girl for the photos below.

Orly's Sparkle Collection for Holiday 2014 should be out soon if not already, the only dates I managed to find online for it said September 2014. I haven't been at Ulta in a while so I can't say for sure if its available there yet or not.
