On unisex collections, worn by men

I always have some mixed feelings thinking about unisex clothing worn by men. On the one hand there is the anxiety for it being too feminine, on the other hand there is this certain curiosity to exploring new and different silhouettes. Unisex collections often seem to work for women, but not so much for men.

Women have been borrowing ‘our’ silhouettes, materials and styles ever since minimalism and Scandinavian fashion became popular (and obviously, they have every right to). Women combining ‘our’ classic and tough clothing with their elegant and feminine wardrobe look cool, daring and well, très chic!

But how are unisex collections supposed to be styled by men? Combining the items with our most masculine silhouettes? Often the ensemble still looks odd and just a little too crazy for me. Today I would like to introduce you to ‘Rad Hourani Unisex Haute Couture’ and this editorial by Mojeh Magazine. It is the rare example of how unisex collections can work for men.
