portugal part two - VIP Grande Lisboa Hotel review

Here are some non-festival photos from our Trip. We spent most of our days chilling by the pool - my favourite thing to do on holiday. There is literally nothing I enjoy more than sitting by a pool and doing absolutely nothing. I wont terrify you with my bikini pics but here are a few snaps from when we went for a walk and some of our hotel!

I decided to pay for a hotel rather than camp - I just couldn't handle the idea of camping in the heat. So I booked the VIP Grande Lisboa Hotel and Spa as it had pretty good reviews and was a reasonable price for three nights. Plus it was one of the few hotels I could find that actually had a outdoor pool. The room was large, clean and very nice - I would definitely recommend the place if you're looking for somewhere to stay. It's super close to the airport too and not too far to the city center. Staff were friendly and really helpful too. The pool itself is actually really small but as the whole area wasnt very big it was never packed or crowded. We kept going in for quick dips but had to coax each other in because it was SO cold.

We also went on a stroll to buy some food and lots of water so I took a few snaps of the buildings, they are so pretty, unique and colourful. It made me want to paint our house a funky colour or tile it all pretty! After we'd stocked up on the essentials (Lays and Ruffles mainly) we chilled in our room and got ready for Optimus Alive.

Im glad I decided to get a hotel as the trip felt more like a holiday than when we went to Southside which was a "proper" festival experience. I've decided Im adding Portugal to my list of places I really REALLY need to go again. It's so beautiful and warm and relaxing and just my kinda holiday place. I kinda wish we did some touristy things but we both just needed the rest and relaxation time!
