Finish This

I've missed a few weeks but I'm back and linking up with up with (Nicole {Three 31} Lisa {The Coastal Chicster}, and Becky {The Java Mama} Jen {The Arizona Russums}).
1. When I need help with life's mysteries, I turn to... my husband. Duh. I can be quite the indecisive person and appreciate the wise direction from my husband. We are that cheesy married couple who makes almost all our decisions together and I love knowing certain things aren't all on my shoulders alone. I also turn to my mom. I remember those first few days home from the hospital after having Ford she stayed with us and there were times I just begged for her to tell me what to do. When do I feed him? How do I do it? He hasn't napped, what do I do? How do I care for this foreign little creature? I felt so much reassurance when she told me that I am his mother and whatever I choose to do is the right thing. I don't think I'll ever stop seeking wisdom from others.
2. My next challenge is figuring out...life with a mobile baby. We are just on the cusp of our lives being turned upside down and right now I am savoring these last few moments with an immobile baby. I'm also anxious yet excited to see how this summer pans out for us. Crawling, possibly walking, big boy meals, teaching him out to swim, starting to wean from breastfeeding. I know life with a toddler will be chaotic but I am ready for the challenge.
3. My latest victory...(I changed the prompt on this one because I wasn't sure how I shake things up!) is Ford sleeping through the night! On his 7 month birthday I decided we were no longer going to feed in the night and ever since then Ford's been sleeping 12-13 hours straight, no feeds! All it took was a bit of cry it out (so much easier than I thought). I'm proud of him and proud of me and loving getting real sleep these days. I'm not racing the clock to get to bed and have been enjoying later nights watching movies, playing games, and having "home dates" with Jon.
Sleep=happy baby=happy mommy

This was from a few weeks ago, Jon texted "he's onto us"

4. My high heels are... collecting dust in my closet. I remember the last time I wore heels, 9 months pregnant, summer in Texas, attempting to dance my baby out at a wedding. I am barely 5 feet tall so could definitely use the height but I am most comfortable in flats, Toms, flip flops, or just barefoot. Nowadays you can find me in the stay-at-home-mom spring uniform: Nike shorts, a cute Old Navy athletic top, tennis shoes, and a monogrammed baseball hat.
Black is slimming right....?
