Dove recently contacted me to join them in their Colour Confidence Challenge in collaboration with fashion designer Olivia Rubin; Dove recently tested their popular Invisible Dry Deodorant on over 100 colours and it has been proven to leave 0 marks behind! The challenge was to inject more colour into my wardrobe, instead of the usual blacks and greys most women tend to opt for out of routine and habit - we all know I'm prone to wear black 99.9% of the time so I was equally excited and a tad nervous to take part! It has been proven that colours can affect your mood, especially your confidence; for me personally, I wore a lot of colour as a teen and right up until last year, technically. However, I feel like "me" in mostly black. I was given £200 to spend on Topshop's website and I was encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone when choosing pieces. I feel at my most confident in black so opting for anything of a luminous or bright nature just wasn't in the horizon for me; I spent a good few hours browsing the site and looking at coloured pieces that I'd still feel comfortable in. I chose a baby blue bralet, white jeans and metallic shoes; not the most "out there" of colourful outfits but a change from all-black nonetheless and still fitting to my own style and preferences; opting for pastels and/ or metallics is an easy way to start experimenting with colour if you tend to wear mostly dark shades. They're less intimidating and tend to go well with black anyway! I couldn't resist this oversized jacket to tie everything in also - it screams The Cure to me, I love it! The bright fuschia lipstick finishes the look off and again, it's a great way to incorporate colour into a look without stepping outside the door dressed as a rainbow on legs. You can upload a photo of yourself taking on the Colour Confidence Challenge here, to be in a chance of winning a bespoke capsule collection by Olivia Rubin herself! Ditch the gothic robes at once so folks..
