Blue Is The Warmest Colour

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought it would be the right time to showcase an alternative romantically-inspired outfit, thanks to all the blue items currently in my wardrobe! It might not be the classic colour associated with love, but (borrowing from the film titled Blue Is The Warmest Colour) I’d like to think there’s something a little romantic about this floral assortment.

I literally squealed in delight at the postman (who looked more than a little shocked) when he delivered both a Cath Kidston parcel and these Orla Kiely for Clarks shoes. Having first pined over the heels during Orla Kiely’s Spring/Summer presentation last year, I immediately tried them on and clomped around my house (sorry neighbours!). Because they’re from Clarks, there’s nothing troublesome about tottering around in these- the large platform and chunky heel combine to make it super comfortable to walk in! Plus, this pair of trousers is ideal for the upcoming transitional weather, and in one of the prettiest floral prints I’ve ever seen, so iconic that my friend immediately said “I love your Cath Kidston trousers!”.

And in keeping with the blue theme, I treated myself to an early Valentine’s gift from H.Samuel in the shape of this earrings and necklace set. It might be a slightly (very) cheesy thing to say, but it’s important to look after number one (you!) and give yourself a little lovin’ too, no matter who you spend Valentine’s Day with ; ) x
