My First Thanksgiving + Second Fill

Hi everyone! This year, I celebrated my very first Thanksgiving with my band. It wasn’t so bad at all! I have only had one fill so far, so I was able to eat almost any thing I wanted, but in small portions. I actually didn’t gain any weight, which was awesome. I had Thanksgiving dinner with my family Thursday and with my friends on Saturday, and ate quite a bit. I was able to eat turkey, potatoes, green beans, asparagus, corn bread, a roll, and some squash casserole. The one thing that I couldn’t eat no matter how hard I tried was sausage balls. I tried multiple times and two different recipes, and NOPE made me incredibly uncomfortable both times.

Today I had my second fill. I tried to get squeezed in before Thanksgiving, but I’m glad I didn’t now. Same thing as last time. I laid down on the table, got stuck with the giant needle, and then stood up in front of the X-ray machine. This time it didn’t hurt as bad getting stuck, or maybe I just closed my eyes tight enough, or maybe a little of both. It was also MUCH easier this time and she got the needle in right off.

I drank the barium and then some water. I could definitely feel it get tight. She tried to sneak a bit more in me to see how much I could hold, and made me uncomfortable, and then took a wee bit out and settled on a good amount. I still have no clue how much fluid is in my band but she said this time was an “aggressive average” adjustment. I’m not hungry at all, so I’m probably not going try to eat even for a while.

My husband and I have been on a juice fast for a day now, and I’m down to 205.5lbs, but I hate it. I hate fresh juice, and haven’t found a recipe I like. Now, those pre-made Green Monster Boathouse Farms and Naked Juice I LOVE, but I don’t love this stuff I’m making. I’m trying some red and purple juice tonight to see if the sweeter juices are more appealing.

I’m being attacked by a little one right now, and my 10-month-old just woke up, so that will be all for now. But my goal for this week is to hit 200lbs. Totally doable!

And… go!
