Favorite Sources: Decorative Objects

When it comes to objects and home accessories, I believe you have to shop around. I also think properly accessorizing is one of the most time-consuming parts of decorating any space. But this is one task you can’t skip. I showed you how important objects are for adding dimension and character to your space.

Finding the right decorative objects can be challenging and time intensive, but I am confident with this list of favorite sources you will be well on your way. I love each of the source below for different reasons, but they all faithfully deliver a well-rounded selection of decorative objects.

One more thing before we get to the list…terminology. When shopping online for decorative objects it helps to know all the different labels they might be categorized under. It is tricky to hunt down the decorative objects in an online catalog, because they are called so many different things. Here is a brief list of what retailers call objects:

  • Decorative Objects
  • Home Accents
  • Accessories
  • Decor
  • Objets
  • Tabletop

To make it easier for you when browsing the below sites, I have listed and linked directly to each sources best category for decorative objects. Happy decor shopping!

West Elm – Decorative Objects: As far as objects go, West Elm is one of my go to sources for decorative spheres. Every time they release a new collection, there is a new type of decorative sphere. They also do pretty well with quirky, woodland animals. I would venture to argue some of West Elms objects are iconic.

House & Hold – Deco: This is a newer to me source, but has won me over with unique modern finds.

cB2 – Accessories: A great source for modern, sometimes edgy, and colorful objects. They always have unique candle holders that double as sculpture.

RH Baby & Child – Decorative Accents: The objects of curiosity at Restoration Hardware are the real deal, sometimes literally, which also makes them pretty pricey. So, I love to peek at the baby and child collection. While it is relatively pricey in the kid decor space, the objects are cool enough to be used anywhere in the home.

Anthropologie – Room Decor: A good stop for quirky feminine decor. Always a good source for interesting, sculptural vases.

Home Decorators Collection – Home Accents:

Some times you just want one stop shopping and home dec has a large collection of objects to make that possible. Be sure to look here for finials,

Lulu&Georgia – Decorative Objects: This well curated shop has the market cornered on classic animal objects, like horse head bookends. They also have several Buddha heads.

Jonathan Adler – Decorative Objects: His pottery background makes him the master of smalls and decorative objects. Even his vases are sculptural enough to qualify as an object. Don’t miss the fun animals or trinket boxes.

Dwell Studio – Objets: Dwell Studio has the white, black, and metallics covered. I just picked up the matte sliver urchin.

Target – Decorative Accents: If you are on a modest budget, you can’t beat the home decor offerings from Target. They have really stepped it up recently with the Threshold line. Between the seasonal home decor collections and the Nate Berkus line, they always have great decorative objects.

Wayfair – Home Accents: A million things home including lots of decorative objects, including some of the other brands mentioned here like Dwell Studio and Jonathan Adler.

Bliss Home & Design – Accessories: The objects here are higher-end, but simply stunning. If you are looking for a timeless investment piece this is a great place to shop.

World Market – Decorative Accents: Another good inexpensive source. Their choice of decorative objects is limited, but they always have great desk accessories and pretty lanterns.

Urban Outfitters – Room Accessories: This is one budget friendly stop for quirky objects, especially bookends, small planters, and trinket boxes.

Jayson Home – Tabletop: For truly unique finds with vintage appeal, look no further than Jayson Home. A great source for geodes, gems, brass objects, and other natural elements.
