L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil - Review

I have been obsessed with the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil for the past few years, yes, it's pricey, but totally worth the splurge and pampering. I began my obsession with a travel size shower oil that came in a gift set during Christmas, at first I totally didn't get it - I was dumping it on my loofah and wasting so much because I thought it was supposed to lather up like your typical body wash. No. I was so wrong. After using half of my travel size bottle, I started to use it much more logically - I squeeze out about a quarter size amount in the palm of my hand, gently rub my hands together and then start massaging my arms, shoulders, chest, etc. Applying more as needed, but never too much. The oil creates a mild lather, but still applies with that silky moisturizing sensation. After I have massaged the oil all over my body - and before I rinse off - I'll take my loofah and gently swirl it all over my body for a little exfoliation. One more step before rinse off, I grab for my razor and shave my legs and underarms over the remaining oil, this has become my favorite way to shave! The oil creates a silky barrier between the blade and my skin, so I have not experienced a bloody nick in years AND it keeps my skin stay hydrated - shaving foams and creams dry out my skin horribly, leaving ashy flaky skin that looks and feels yucky. Also, I have noticed that my razor blades stay sharp longer when I use the oil compared to typical shaving products. By the time I get out of the shower my skin is as soft as when I apply a body oil, but without looking oily or having to wait for it to soak into my skin. I can even skip a body moisturizer in the Summertime because the shower oil is plenty of hydration for my skin.

If you have been on the fence about the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil, I would highly recommend getting a travel size at least to try out - especially if your skin is prone to dryness.
