Neutral Beauty Faves - The Beauty Buffs

This week's Beauty Buffs post is themed around neutrals, and while I like to think I'm more of a color lover, I realized that I have a little go-to collection of neutrals for those days I'm in a rush, or need a neutral base for a pop of color, or I'm just in the mood for simplicity. I also noticed over the years that I'm very picky about my neutral tones, can't be too warm or too cool or too taupe or too brown... Yes, I really am that selective about shades that seem so plain or easy.

Let's start with the face products, I have fallen hard for the ELF Mineral Pearls in Natural, gives the prettiest healthy glow without any shine or shimmer, #perfection! I have also started gravitating towards Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, it's a slightly warm beige blush with a pinch of pink, it's honestly just enough pink to look alive and happy, but beige enough to not look like I'm wearing blush - a natural flush to the cheeks. Lastly, I live for Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant, love love love this for a highlighter on my facial high points and collar bones. It's warm enough to suit my skin tone, and buildable to wear on makeup-free days for a healthy glow or built up for a goddess glow.

Moving up to the eye products, I cannot stop using the ELF 18 Eyeshadow Palette that they launched in their Beauty School collection this Summer/Fall, if you spot it, I highly recommend buying it, it's only $8 and the shades are a wonderful mix with really great quality. I also found the little ELF Natural Palette in their Beauty School collection, and I've recently been grabbing that a lot too. I have this tiny little Jouer eyeshadow trio in The Naturals, this is so convenient for traveling and rushing out the door, and it's pretty nice in pigment and blending. It's my first Jouer eye makeup, but it talked me into wanting more! One more travel friendly neutral palette is the Youngblood Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Shanghai Nights, perfect in every way; pigmentation, buttery soft, easy blending, every day shades. I have a few of the Youngblood Quads, but I use this one the most.

Ohmygosh, I'm long winded today! Okay, for lips I really like to wear the ELF Studio Conditioning Lip Balm in Nice & Natural and the Essential Lip Tint in Nude every day, they are so buttery and moisturizing, plus I don't look dead when I'm makeup-less, they added a healthy tint of beige to neutralize my lip pigmentation. I only own one neutral lipstick, Youngblood Blushing Nude, a beige pink shade, so pretty for daily wear and hydrating. I recently found the Rimmel London Colour Rush in Drive Me Nude, these are my favorite balm stains of life and this shade is my new love - it's like my lips but better, a beige nude with a pinch of mauve <3 And then the glosses, I love the light shimmer of NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City, the creamy feel of Youngblood Deja Vu, and the slight blue shimmer in the Artistry Lip Gloss in Champagne (plus I come to enjoy the menthol scent).

Home stretch! Nail polishes! This was an easy category for me, when I need a pallet cleanser, I grab for one of these shades. Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect in Fog, Sinful Shine Prosecco, Zoya Avery, Covergirl Always Naked, and ELF Innocent. They all have lovely formulas, easy to apply, and wear beautifully on my nails. Sorry, no swatches this time :(
