New Portrait of Prince George + Kate in M Missoni for Meade Wedding

We have plenty of new photos to share beginning with a beautiful new family portrait of William, Kate, George and Lupo. The Mother's Day portrait was taken at a window of Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace by award-winning photographer Jason Bell, who also took Prince George's official christening photos.

It's a natural, tender portrait showing a very happy family. It depicts eight-month-old George, wearing a rather adorable blue jumper (reportedly a gift from Prince Charles) with his moniker emblazoned on it, gazing at Lupo. We can see he has light brown hair and eyebrows. The little Prince is held by his adoring mother whilst a beaming William looks towards the camera.

The Duchess recycled her Temperley London Rodeo Blouse. She first wore the ivory shirt at the Calgary Stampede during the Canada tour in 2011. The sheer pieces feature pleating on the shoulders, a ruffled placket and extended cuffs. It originally retailed for £455.

This was a surprise treat indeed, as we hadn't expected to see any new photos of George before the tour. I think you'll agree, he's a cutie :)

We do love an unexpected Kate appearance and were delighted to see photos of The Duchess of Cambridge attending the wedding of friends Lucy Meade and Charlie Budgett in Marshfield, Gloucestershire today.

Kate was accompanied by Princes William and Harry. The trio were all smiles upon arrival.

The bride Lucy Meade is the sister of James Meade, one of Prince William's closest friends from Eton and his second best man at the royal wedding in 2011, after which he reportedly gave a very memorable speech. When James married last year William, Harry and Pippa attended whilst pregnant Kate remained at home. Their father, Richard Meade, is the first British rider to have won an Olympic gold medal.

Today had been tipped as as a possibility for a George appearance among royal watchers, however I didn't expect William and Kate would take the eight-month-old. It's very much a special day for the couple and undoubtedly the royals were conscious the focus should remain on Lucy and Charlie. Not to mention the possibility of George crying during the ceremony.

A number of William, Kate and Harry's closest friends were in attendance, including George's godmother Emilia Jardine-Paterson who is expecting her own baby later this year.

Kate recycled a selection of popular items for the wedding today. This is something Her Royal Highness frequently does when attending weddings, again to ensure the focus remains on the bride and not her sartorial choices. Readers will recognise Kate's M Missoni tweed coat from a 2012 visit to Fortnum & Mason and again that year for a trip to Nottingham.

The understated piece was an excellent choice for the wedding. So much so, another wedding guest had the same idea and wore the coat, too. I imagine smiles were exchanged between Kate and the guest upon realisation they were wearing the same garment.

Kate wore her Whistles Bella Dress underneath; she was first photographed wearing it at the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony.

Kate accessorised with her Lock & Co. Fairy Tale hat. It's one of her nicest hats, and I can see why she wears it so often.

Kate wore her trusty Episode 'Angel' Shoes.

And completed the look with her Mulberry clutch and Cassandra Goad earrings.

It was wonderful to see the royals, who are no doubt busy with last minute preparations for their upcoming tour of New Zealand and Australia. Seeing them attend weddings together has been something of a staple in appearances for years now. I liked Kate's look; it hit all the right notes.

We leave you with a photo of the beautiful bride and her father.

A very Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there! It will be a very special day for Kate, her first as a mum.
