Watercolor Valentine’s Painting

My little Kirsten is quite the artist. She’ll actually tell you that she’s going to be an artist when she grows up – and I actually believe it. This girl will choose to colour and draw any day for most anything else. Cam is the complete opposite. It’s almost painful trying to get him to do any sort of crafty project. I find it hard – being crafty myself – but I also try not to force the issue with him. He enjoys doing other things, and that’s okay too. With the kids in school full-time, our crafty time has definitely diminished at home. That’s why I’ve come up with MASTERPIECE MONDAY (at Kirsten’s request of course). Every Monday night Kirsten wants to sit down with me and do a crafty project. I happily obliged because our life is becoming so busy with all the kids extracurriculars, that we needed to pencil in a little crafty time. Some projects will be blog worthy and others won’t. It’s not a big deal – but they are all works of art in their own way. It’s just a nice time to get crafty with my little lady – and the little man if he so chooses to participate!

I present to you what we created last Monday for “MASTERPIECE MONDAY

I picked up some blank canvases, and Kirsten used some watercolour paints that she received in her stocking this year. I guided her to make a Valentine’s painting – and this is what she came up with! I just love it. I love the bright and beautiful colours and I love that she is so proud of her “masterpiece!”

And on that note, I better get off the computer – it is Monday afterall and we have a masterpiece to create!
