Camping In Cornwall

An impromptu camping trip took up our weekend. We've been so busy trying to set up the new house and Seventy Tree studio that a little break was called for. It was going to be the four of us, but 'social gatherings' with new friends were understandably more appealing for Maisie and it ended up being just me and the boys, whilst she stayed with her grandparents.

Not being experienced campers, or owning any camping equipment, we opted for an all-inclusive Bell Tent at a sweet little campsite called Tremorvu. It was great! Mattresses, rugs and cushions, a coffee table, stove and fridge were all part of the deal, so all we had to do was throw our bedding and personal bits and bobs in the car.
My friend Lou of Little Green Shed recently posted pictures of her Cornwall trip and as it looked so beautiful, this was my inspiration (thanks Lou!).
Kynance Cove near The Lizard was a must. The weather was overcast, but this didn't distract from the breathtaking scenery and turquoise blue waters we were presented with. Wow! Fortunately, the sun broke through the clouds during the afternoon, so we were able to further appreciate the glistening waters, rocky terrain and vivid pink wild flowers in all their glory! Bertie was in his element poking around the rocks with his fishing net (whilst I scrambled around trying to keep my balance on the rocks at 28 weeks pregnant. This wasn't so easy!).
That evening, we enjoyed a very good meal in a pub by the water at Helford Passage called The Ferryboat Inn. Bertie was contented watching the boats and throwing stones (giant rocks) in the water afterwards. It was a glorious warm, sunny evening. What a perfect day!
Sadly, the weather was rather cold and miserable looking as we arose on Sunday. I had also barely slept due to my first bout of pregnancy heartburn, so we decided to return home. Not all bad though, as living so close to Cornwall again, meant we were back home by 11am and free to enjoy the Devon sunshine (and the new cargo bike...see below post).
