Weekly Favourites #43

Is anyone else struggling with the current weather? One day it is sunny, the next it is torrential rain (or thunder and lighting further south of the border). I really don't know how to dress and lugging a coat around in July is less than ideal. It is pretty much the same case with my make-up choices, with that being said let me share what I have enjoyed the last few days...

Two skin care re-discoveries, first up Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Balm. I was in the House of Fraser, found myself at the Clarins counter and walked away with a fresh new tube. This was my go to cleanser last year so I wanted to rediscover its magic! I like that Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel is so light on the skin yet it "melts" off all my make-up. A little goes a long way and at £20 I deem it to be a bargain as you really will get a good three months of use from one tube. You can find it here - link.
Speaking of visiting counters I really need to get myself along to Space.NK and purchase a full size tube of Radical Eye Revive Creme. Basically this is an all in one eye product it: hydrates, reduces puffiness, decreases discolouration, dark circles and can reduce wrinkles/fine lines. It is thick yet absorbs quickly, cooling and calming my skin. It is one of those eye products you really need to try out for yourself to fully appreciate just how wonderful it is. Oddly I have been a little prone to hives this week, mostly on my cheeks and jaw line. Apparently it is related to my hayfever. Who knew? I know the best thing for my skin is to keep my face make-up free but in some instances this just can't happen so I've been applying a fine layer of Bourjois Happy Light Concealer over the affected area. Yes this is a brighting concealer but I find as it is yellow based it helps counter the redness and it doesn't further irritate my skin. Bourjois Happy Light Concealer covers well, doesn't cake and doesn't look heavy. It also wears beautifully on the under eye should you want to use it to hide dark circles. You can find it here - link.
To add a little radiance to my skin I have been relying on MeMeMe Beat the Blues Highlighter in Pearl Pink. I like that it is a liquid formula so it feels super light on the skin - perfect for balmy days. I tend to dot a little along my cheekbones and blend out using a beauty blender. You can also mix this in with foundation for a more dewy finish. Yes this is quite similar to Benefit Highbeam, maybe the closest dupe on the high street and at £5.50 you can bet it is a lot cheaper too! Find it here - link.

Eye make-up has been pretty simple, a quick slick of MAC Paint Pot in Eclair. This is a deep, almost reddened bronze which looses its metallic sheen once blended out. It gives a quick smoky look in seconds, lasts all day and suits the blue/grey shade of my eyes. Annoyingly this shade was limited edition but MAC Groundwork Paint Pot gives a similar effect despite t the fact they look nothing alike in the pot. Find it here - link.
I have been teaming this with lashings of YSL Shocking Mascara which I have only just bought. At the moment I am a little unsure of the formula but since it is the mascara I have used the most this week it was only fair that I included it in my post. I find it smudges a little in the heat but is fine on cooler days. Hmm the jury is still out on this one. You can find it here - link.
On my lips it has been all about Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Electric Pink, a bright cheery pink that glides on to the lips and wears for a good three to four hours with ease. I like that I can line and then fill my lips with one product. My only gripe is that in the heat my Bobbi Brown Art Stick melted a little! You can find it here - link.

Lastly we have a nod to Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum, a beautiful deep floral scent that I have been enjoying all week. It is just so sexy isn't it! You can find it here .
What have you been enjoying?
