Etched and lace mason jars and bottles #msholiday

I’ve been trying out some Martha Stewart Craft products this week and made some etched and lace decoupaged glass jars, a tin container, and a bottle. I love how they turned out and they were so easy to make. I used the Martha Stewart glass etching cream, the lace trim appliques from the MS decoupage line, decoupaging medium, and a Martha stencil . A nice thing about the decoupage line is everything is dishwasher safe. But I think I would handwash these pretties just to be on the safe side.

The products can all be found at Micheal’s stores or online at Plaid. There are so many ideas I have for using all of my Martha Stewart goodies I received from Plaid for Christmas crafting. This is just the tip of the iceberg!
I had some recycled jars and a bottle that had had some lemonade in it that I saved because it was so pretty. The letters I made last year and you can find a tutorial here. When I look at this photo it makes me think of frosty, icy northern climates. I bet you wouldn’t know it was 75 degrees outside and sunny when I took this photo!

Making these pretty glass crafts was simple. I used these materials

  • Martha Stewart Decoupage medium in matte finish
  • Martha Stewart lace trim
  • Martha Stewart stencil
  • Martha Stewart etching cream

First I covered the glass pieces with a thick coat of the etching cream. I let it sit for about 30 minutes and then I rinsed it off in the sink.

Then I applied the decoupage to the lace pieces and put them on the jars and bottles. I let it dry thoroughly. I did the same for the metal tin and used a Martha Stewart reindeer stencil to go with my reindeer statue. They were very simple and quick to make!
