May / June summer 2014 primark haul!

It's been a while since I've posted a Primark haul. I've tried to restrain myself lately as it's all too easy to pop in for some socks and come out with two heaving bags having spent £150 on things you didn't really need - well that happens to me anyway. I've had two trips to Primark lately, so I thought I'd do my usual tip it all out on the bed and share what I bought type post. Enjoy!

First up some Primark body care bits. I never usually buy anything from that section, but these caught my eye being all pink and girlie, so I thought I'd give them a try. The body wash looks really cute and has glittery heart bits floating in it, and the vanilla and wild rose body spray smells lovely. Not bad for £2 and £1.50 each.

Stick a pug on something and I'm guaranteed to buy it - ooops. Primark already got me with a pug onesie, duvet cover and even a wash mitt, and now they've got me again with these cards and gift bag which I don't even have a use for yet! I also couldn't resist these "totes amaze balls" cards despite them coming in a pack with ones which say something about being reem...

I nearly forgot I bought another pug thing! Most of the phone covers in Primark are still for iphone 4 so I did a little whoop when I spotted this cute pug which fits iphone 5 and 5S. This was £4.

Another thing I'm certainly not short of is candles, but these ones smelt so good I just had to get them. They're sweet vanilla and coconut but come in lots of other scents too for £2 each.

I'm going on holiday in September so I've started stocking up now on a few basic beach flipflops. You have to buy early as by August beachwear has been replaced by scarves and gloves! The stripey pair were just £1.50 and the brown and gold crystal ones were £3.

I needed some more flats for work and didn't really like any of the ballet flats Primark had in, so I went for this pointy asymmetric mary jane style shoes instead. These were only £6 each.

I'm always on the hunt for new wedges that look pretty but are actually quite comfy to walk in, so I homed straight in on these £12 cork wedges in black and tan. I'm a bit on the fence as to whether they're nice or frumpy - it's borderline I think but they seem to look okay on.

I bought this stretchy bandeau maxi dress for £10 purely because I loved the print. Even my boyfriend was brave enough to tell me these are unflattering on me! I love the print so much that I have plans to turn this into a maxi skirt, which will look much nicer on my shape. If it goes well I may even be able to do a little tutorial!

Much more my usual style is this blush pink, belted v-neck dress with cap sleeves. It's a slightly thicker waffle type material and it's the sort of thing I'll wear too work with a light jacket when it's not overly hot. This one was £15.

I went a little overboard and got a few more pairs of flipflops / sandals. My bestie has the glittery beauties and I was very jealous of them so had to get my own. I loved the blue and gold mix on the second pair which were £4 and the third reminded me of some Steve Madden flipflops I've seen before, so they all made their way into my basket even though they were a bit pricier at £12.

Last two pairs of shoes I promise! After a few trips to Primark where I couldn't find any shoes I liked I made a third trip and came away with so many pairs . I thought both of these would be quite good for work. I'm completely sold on the black patent pair although I think the tan ones could well be blister inducers! Both of these were £8 each.

It wouldn't be a trip to Primark without a few necklaces now would it? I've tried to be much more restrained with my Primark jewellery purchases as I have far too much, but these minty green goodies won me over and I threw the cute daisy necklace in for good measure. These were between £4 and £6 each.

There isn't a huge amount of actual clothes in this haul as I've found a lot of the styles Primark have in at the moment don't really suit me as they're either super clingy or baggy. This dress falls into the latter category but I've been making it work with a fitted black jacket and a huge bib necklace.

I'm becoming increasingly impressed with Primark's range of nails art bits and pieces and can't resist adding their cute falsies to my collection even though my own nails are usually too long to wear fakes on top! The nail wheels are amazing value for £1 and the nail art pens are such good quality that I'm going to buy some more as back-ups. I also stocked up on some nail files as I lose mine all the time, and I thought I'd give some Primark lashes a whirl as they were only £3 for four pairs.

This is one of the few 'summer' dresses I've liked so far in Primark this season. I've been wearing this with a cute cardigan while the weather's been a bit cooler.

I'm not really a festival goer and I don't tend to casually hang out in meadows being all bohemian, but for some reason I felt the need to own some more floral headbands / flower crowns. These both really quite suit me and my hair colour, but I'm really not sure when I'll find the occasion to wear them! Never the less they're really pretty, were only £3 and £4, and having them in my life is making me happy.

Lastly I was snared by yet another duvet set from Primark's home section. So far this year I think I must be up to having bought about four sets including the owl sheets you can see in the background here and these wondrous pug covers. I think Primark bedding is such good value and it washes and lasts well - ooh look at me being all old and domesticated! The pretty jewel print covers were £14 for a king, the pillow cases were £2 and the fitted sheet was £7.

Have you found anything amazing at Primark lately?
