Getting Reaquainted

Wow! I am so surprised by how many of you are still following the blog. It warmed my heart to get so many happy comments about me returning to blogging! I thought I’d start off by telling you all what has been going on in my life lately.

The first big thing is that we sold our little house in October and bought a beautiful 1940s home in a neighborhood that was at the top of our new home list. It was bittersweet to leave the place we first called home as a couple, but the new house and nicer neighborhood are so awesome that we don’t really miss it much at all.

We’re still unpacking and getting the house to feel like our home. This will be a long process, but it is steadily happening. We have yet to paint anything and I’m getting the itch, because a lot of the interior is pinky beige ugh.

I was sick and pretty much bed-ridden for most of November and December with a dysfunctional gallbladder. Of course it took a month and a half to figure out what was actually wrong with me because it was not being a normal dysfunctional gallbladder -- no stones, no weird test results, just pain and nausea all the time. I’m all better now, but geez that was a very not fun time and put settling in to the new house on hold for a few months.

I’ve lost about 40 pounds since I started eating a more plant strong diet and working out a lot more (some of this was from being sick, but I’ll take it!). I have so much more energy and feel healthier which is more important than a number on a scale, but I can’t deny that I am enjoying my new body. Sheldon started embracing vegan cooking and we are still eating vegan at least 80% of the time. In fact, my body craves this healthy food especially now that I don’t have a gallbladder, my whole body works better when I eat all these healthy veggies. It took me quite a while to recover from being sick and having surgery but I’m finally back at the gym and feeling strong again!

I’m still a young adult librarian and I love my job more and more each day. I’m reading a ton -- like 2 or 3 books a week, so my goodreads is constantly updating.

I have crocheted one item in the last year. This houndstooth cowl:

I unpacked two unfinished granny square afghans from my granny a day project and I hope I get to finish those before winter.

I’m hoping to start back to regular crafting now that my craft room is unpacked. Finally after two years!!!! I feel like sewing and quilting are going to become something I work on more in the next year.

So I guess this post sums up what the blog will be from here on out: house, health journey, books, and crafts. I can't wait to share more with you all!
