Digit-al Dozen geek week day 2 - holographic binary nail art with Color Club Halo Hues!

Hey guys! Today I have some nails to show you using two colors from the new Color Club Halo Hues collection from spring 2013 - Beyond and Over the Moon. I did these a couple days ago when it was super sunny because I wanted to get some good swatch pics, but literally as soon as I finished painting for the first swatch the sun was gone haha. UGH. Luckily I have a daylight bulb in my desk lamp so I was still able to get some good holo pics!
The formula on both of these is impeccable. I wore them without top or base coat and they were both opaque in 2 perfect, easy coats. I only wore the nail art for an afternoon so I can't speak to the longevity of these without a topcoat, but I can say that I spent the afternoon cleaning the house and then I took a shower and my nails were still perfect afterward - which is definitely saying something! They also dry crazy fast, which is AWESOME.

Color Club Beyond is a black linear holo. OMG JUST LOOK AT THIS YOU GUYS. This is the first holo polish I've ever worn and I think my eyeballs popped out of my head when I put it on.

Color Club Over the Moon is a bright blue linear holo. This one was more holo in real life than it's showing up in pictures - I LOVE it.

When I was brainstorming ideas for geek week, I asked my boyfriend for his input and he suggested binary nails! I really liked the idea and I decided to do them with these holo polishes so they'd look sort of futuristic/computer-y (don't judge me).

I seriously LOVE the way these came out. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull them off at first but I think I managed to do okay!

I started with a base of two coats of Over the Moon and then used my tiny detailing brush to freehand the ones and zeroes in Beyond. FUN FACT: the binary says "nails"! I found a binary translator online and I thought it'd be fun if my nails actually said nails... IN BINARY. The first two nails say "nails" together, and the second two say "nai" I think... I ran out of room haha.

The sun came out literally just in time for me to take these pictures and then went away as soon as I was done - thanks, sunshine! I was really happy because just LOOK at this holo in full sun.

All in all I'm happy with how these came out and I think they were such a cool idea! Props to my neat boyfriend for coming up with it. What do you guys think?

Color Club polishes can be found on their website and you can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter!

Don't forget to check out the other ladies' manis for today! :)
