Going Places {Spring Adventuring: Part 1}

If I was a musician, I’d definitely make up a song about my latest adventures. This first one would be a country song. A happy little tune that you’d want to play during a backyard BBQ with your big ol’ family. Heavy on the guitar, I would sing about going to Utah, where we eat homemade tacos, hang out down on the farm, visit dear friends, listen to kids play together in the yard, and stay up late into the night just talking and reminiscing.

The trip felt as dreamy as it sounds. Stevie was a champ on the airplane (getting through the airport was a different story) and he kept so busy with all the kids and cousins that I hardly remember him being there! Made all that anxiety about the trip seem like a waste of time, that’s for sure. My mom always joked about us renting a kid to keep him entertained and I’m starting to think she’s onto something!

And speaking of my Mom, this trip was really planned around her graduation from the University of Utah Social Work program. She’s been working her butt off for years and now she’s done! I can hardly believe it. When she told me she was going back to school, graduation seemed so far away, but here she is. Not only completing her program, but doing so with flying colors – making the honors society and the dean’s list and getting straight A’s every semester. Are you impressed yet? You should be. She’s an awesome lady!
