Wednesday Mishmash- BOSU Move, Spicy Roasted Kabocha and Stuff

Whelp, I had the brilliant idea of writing a post at the crack of dawn and saving my run for after I teach spin this morning so I can do it outside as opposed to the treadmill.

Not really the best decision. I can’t get my thoughts together this early and now the forecast is rain. I’m getting really great at learning from my mistakes and random decisions these days.

Anyhoo….

I have a fun BOSU move for you from my class yesterday.

Oh wait, that’s not it. That’s just me doing a little extra v-sit after class. Dork.

Here’s the move- weighted plank rows.

Weights in hands on the ground with hands about shoulder width apart. Get in plank position with either your knees on the BOSU (easier) or your toes (more difficult). Alternate row by lifting your elbow to the ceiling. It works your back and pretty much your entire core while trying to balance while you lift. It’s really fun when you add a push up in there too, but there was no way I was getting a picture of that. Ha.

After class yesterday we fed the ducks. One of our favorite things to do.

They were hungry.

Yesterday, I ate half a kabocha with NuttZo and such earlier in the day. Then at night I needed something to pile my date night guacamole on with dinner so I used the other half of it and roasted it up spicy style.

Oh heck yes. How have I not done that before? It was so good. Like really, really good.

Sliced kabocha, skin on. Seasoned with garlic, Penzeys Spices adobo seasoning, cayenne, sea salt and chipotle.

Roasted in over at 425 convection for about 20-25 minutes.

Perfection.

This is so happening again very soon.

I don’t know about you, but I have a love hate relationship with Amazon. I love that I can get anything there and get it at my doorstep in about two days, but I hate that I get sucked and end up not only spending more time than planned browsing, but also buying a few extra fun things.

I bought this spiralizer awhile back for myself for my birthday. I keep meaning to make zucchini noodles.

But, it’s still in the box. Nice.

Now I’m adding this cool perfect pancake pan to my want list after my friend posted it on Facebook. Does anyone have this?

I wonder if it’s really as cool as it looks.

Two things before I get on with my day.

Marcia asked if I drink anything for recovery. I do only after my really long runs to hold me over until I have a big meal. I also sometimes have it when I have a long day of teaching classes and need a little something after my morning workout.

My recovery drink of choice is this Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator.

It comes in apple berry and tropical flavors. I love them both. I really like adding a little apple cider vinegar to it also just for kicks.

Okay, I’m off.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Don’t forget to enter the NuttZo to-go packet giveaway.
