A Couple Things You Have To Do Within 48 Hours of Being in Kauai

Just stopping by for a quick hello from paradise.

We’ve been busy eating, exploring, swimming, relaxing and spending time with family and it’s been glorious.

My body actually feels great after the marathon Sunday, but I’m still doing the forced rest week thing. I think it’s going to be hard, but it’s very necessary.

So, I’ll just show you three things you have to do within 48 hours of being in Kauai.

First, you have to unplug your clock. The one by the bed is off. It’s staying that way for the duration of the time here.

You have to have at least a few island drinks. I came up with this new cocktail combination that is awesome and goes really well mixed with pina coladas. Tropical Nuun and Malibu Rum just might be the new thing.

My mother-in-law is from Kauai so we really have the inside scoop as to all the great stops. The celebration dinner after the race was at Hamura Saimin.

It’s a cute little hole in the wall place with amazing noodle bowls. If you ever go to Kauai, you HAVE to go here.

Cheap prices, good food, big serving sizes, lots of noodles and they have the famous Hawaiian chili water.

I went with the special noodle bowl because it had a little bit of everything.

Everyone here knows about Lappert’s. Obviously after a marathon we ended up here.

I’m fairly certain at least half of all the other marathoners were there also.

I went with Nene Tracks and Heavenly Hana.

Oh heck yes. Best ice cream ever.

We all enjoyed it. Some of us made a little bit more of a mess than others.

Ha ha.
