From the Weekend- Runs, Highlights, Moments and the Pro Legging Sale

Let’s see. My week of running was not ideal, but I logged the miles in. Non of my runs were hard, had any kind of speed work associated with them or were stellar.

I’m two weeks out from the TCS New York Marathon and should be officially into my taper. Ideally I would have done some great quality runs this past week, but that didn’t happen. Ideally I would not have been sick and had a head cold that refused to go away, but that didn’t happen either. Ideally from a coach’s stand point or training plan, I would not have run a full marathon as my last long run like I did in Long Beach last weekend either, but what can I say, I really wanted to run that race and am so glad I did as I loved everything about it.

So, not really the ideal situation two weeks out from a marathon, but I’m just going with it and seeing what I can do.

I did run both days over the weekend and ran a total of 54 miles for the week.

Saturday I didn’t get to my run until later in the day, but ran 18 hilly miles outside.

The run was particularly slow, but I took a new route for a change and enjoyed the southern California fall weather.

I still don’t know what that running index number means. Maybe I should find out.

Today I didn’t get to my run until the afternoon either. I thought about not doing it at all, but then figured I would jump on the treadmill for a few The Mindy Project episodes. Love that they’re in New York too and we’ll be there so soon!

I ran a total of 6 miles on there today at 1.0 incline.

Next week is a new week. I’m finally kicking this head cold business thank goodness and I’m just pretty much going to try to maintain until New York. We’ll see what happens.

Some random eats from the weekend include my pre run egg white breakfast STUFTwich with goat cheese cream cheese and jam.

My post run mess of a chicken salad

that was closely followed by sweetener free roasted kabocha and a baked purple sweet potato with NuttZo and some protein dark chocolate sauce.

Saturday night I was craving macaroni and cheese (probably because the boys and I had been talking about it earlier and that’s what they wanted for dinner) so I made a box of Annie’s Whole Wheat shells, but used goat cheese and nutritional yeast instead of the cheese packet.

I added some chilis, some hot sauce, some seasoning, garlic salt, crushed red pepper flakes, and goodness knows what else then topped it with as much broccoli as possible.

I also was craving grape soda which is really strange, but took it upon myself to wash my big bowl of carb goodness down with a Zevia grape soda.

The boys had their macaroni and cheese too (STUFT boy style) and we had a little movie night.

This weekend flew by like they always do, but holy cow I found myself smiling pretty much the entire time.

It started with our big Brick-or Treat adventure and the good times just kept going.

I forgot to mention I had another little workout at Fitwall Friday. It was the “Twister” workout and there was definitely a lot of twisting involved. Good times.

Oh my goodness, and this soccer thing. Every game gets better and better. I just love this picture for so many reasons. Please check out not only Judah and his wave but what’s going on in the background.

Right?

Since it was my only race free weekend of the month, naturally we went down to cheer on our friends at the Athleta Esprit de She Triathlon in Mission Bay.

We didn’t know our friend Rudy (otherwise known as the best race announcer ever) was going to be there, but man it sure made the day for the boys.

My friend Heather is super speedy and pretty much cleans house for her age group in all her races.

My friend Laurie kicked bootie too and it was so fun to surprise her by being there.

It was also just really great hanging out as a family on a Sunday. We rarely get to do that since STUFT Daddy is usually working.

This was the best moment of the day. Just watching this.

Actually getting on with them, not so much fun because it was just not comfortable, but watching from the side was spectacular.

Among our other advnetures today, the boys helped Daddy with some animal chores.

I said hello to my favorite cranes.

I really should just do a post on all our animals someday, huh?

We had another family Charger Party today too, but we won’t talk about the outcome of the game. I will show you these little cute things Mom made though.

Aren’t they cute? They’re owls, right?

Now, let’s talk about the Pro Compression legging really quick. My past review on them is here, but they really are one of my favorite pants to wear. I love working out in them, but I also love just wearing them out and about like today.

I wore them with the cuffs down for a bit and then changed it up with the cuffs up.

What you NEED to know though is that they are ON SALE for $50 instead of $80 at the moment.

And…

if you use code STUFT14 which gets you 40% off anything AND FREE SHIPPING, you get an additional discount.

Wait, so if I’m doing the math right, that means you can buy these leggings (that come in three different color options for the side stitching) for $30 (actually there’s $2.40 on there for tax, so the total for the leggings would be $32.40), but holy smokes that’s a good deal for such quality leggings.

By the way I saw another aerobics instructor wearing these last week and had to do a double take because of her cute leggings. Ha ha.

I just had to pass this along wince the weather is cooling off and this deal is so exciting.

Please no comments about my feet. Someone once told me that if your second toe is longer than your first, it means you’re a leader. I like to tell myself that. Ha ha.

Okay, I better get to bed. Oh, but you can also still use the code for 40% off anything else on the website, even the Sock of the Month.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend and that your week is off to a great start!

What is one thing you really want to do this week?
