No Chafing= A NuttZo GIVEAWAY
Unlike the expo yesterday, I was on time for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles 1/2 Marathon this morning. I went with the Dorothy outfit and I’m glad I did. Although I was already a bit toasty and uncomfortable before the mile 1 marker, everything went okay.
It was not the best day. I was just feeling “off” after the first few miles, but with the New York Marathon next weekend, I wasn’t really trying to go all out anyway. I was a bit humbled though because what I thought would be an easy day of running ended up being a bit of a struggle after I got sick at mile 9.
All is good though. There was no chafing, which was pretty much a miracle, and crossing that finish line always feels great.
Every race and every medal has a different story. Some are better than others, but all of them make up this amazingly awesome journey.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series sure knows how to put on a fabulous race and a fabulous post-race party. I am more and more impressed every time.
I took a lot of notes today on my phone so a full recap will be on the way. Dinner is in the oven at the moment though (thank you to Trader Joe’s and their frozen food section) so instead of recapping race business, I have a couple other things to finish off the weekend.
First let me introduce you to Frank.
The boys found him while I was gone. He’s staying the night tonight.
Let me also show you what made me smile from ear to ear when I got back into town today.
I got to my parents’ house and the boys were outside helping Grandma and Papap with some “projects”. I mean, really, how lucky am I to have such an amazingly supportive family? Gosh I’m blessed.
