Trying to Impress With Socks and Sock Sweaters

I made the executive decision to sleep in this morning. I was a little disappointed in myself, but my sleep has been seriously lacking and I decided that was more important than getting on the treadmill at 5:00 am.

I taught two classes at the gym tonight though (HIIT and group strength training). That was my workout for the day.

This third week back at work has been harder than the others. I’m getting into the swing of things, but the countless nights of not getting enough shut eye have taking their toll. I’m going to have to take a step back and reprioritize some things for next year.

Some things I’ve been particularly loving this week are my Mizuno gloves and my ginormous coffee mug that pretty much lasts all day long. It has been darn chilly here and I need to invest in a few more warm layers I think since I’m spending a lot more time outside.

I’m going to keep job stuff off the blog as much as possible, but I must say that I love my new job so darn much. I seriously wake up every single day wondering how I got so lucky. I didn’t think I’d be back in the teaching world so soon, but I’m here and I hope I’m here forever.

I’ve already decided that my coworker and I are going to be best friends. I adore her and I’ve been trying to reveal my freak flag just a little bit at a time. Ha ha.

I’m trying to impress her and I’m really going to try to impress her with this Pro Compression sock of the month.

I’m wearing my pair tomorrow.

Oh and random, but I just ordered our Christmas cards last night, but I did get these really cool gift labels that I ordered from Erincondren.com.

Aren’t these the cutest?

Oh and I’ve been wearing compression socks and Handful Bras daily. They’re my current uniform.

This is my current situation.

I made a pumpkin version of the STUFT SIlk protein sugar cookie with Vega protein powder and topped it with Sunbutter, NuttZo, a baked s’mores Quest Bar and a peanut butter cup Yasso bar.

Good stuff.

I just recently found out that Pro Compression makes wool compression socks.

Um, cool right? I might need a pair of those. (Just in case you think you might need some too you can still use code SM14 for 40% off and FREE shipping on anything on the website.)

While we’re talking about socks, I thought I’d show you how I attempted to make the sweaters for the kitties.

I got these cheap socks from Target and the sweaters have not lasted long. I might need to invest in better sewn socks, but here’s how the sweater making happens.

First cut the calf part of the long socks.

Then fold over and cut two little arm holes.

Save the bottom of the socks for yourself

and dress up your kitties with the new sweaters.

I know, impressive right?

The socks might be impressive, but this mediocre post is not. I know. I’m too tired. And since my run that didn’t happen this morning wasn’t impressive either, here are some really good articles that I found on running I thought I’d pass along.

I’m on winter break starting tomorrow and it’s all about as much time with the boys as possible. I CAN’T WAIT!

Have a great weekend!

Does anyone else get a winter break?

Anything to share that IS impressive?
