Baby prep: the living room

One thing is sure: I'm not that kind of mom that waits until a week before the due date to decorate and prepare the house for the baby!
And I don't think the reason is that I'm impatient to become a mom {I mean, I am, but I can wait two more months!!}..it's simply me, I like to be organized and plan my moves. I think this is my strongest quality as a stylist and my "m.o." *: search, collect, think, think again and act. This is why I started thinking how to make some space in the living room for the baby crib {and next for the baby box}..and while I was there, I changed a bit the color palette, adding a bit of pink-peach. I moved the bench under the window, I added a nice tablecloth to the table, moved again the yarn cabinet and used the stools for the tv and the other decorations. The crib fits perfectly between the door and the couch and it's so pretty, don't you think? The cover has been made by my beloved grandma, the play cushion is from Tas-ka, the blanket and the little Penny Lane have been made by me using my own yarn.
Next step: change the sofa cover {I'd like the dark grey version} and add some decorations on the wall close to the crib.


Una cosa è certa: non sono quel tipo di mamma che attende fino a una settimana prima della data del parto per decorare e preparare la casa in previsione dell'arrivo del bambino! E non credo che il motivo sia che sono impaziente di diventare mamma {cioè, lo sono, ma posso tranquillamente aspettare altri due mesi!!}.. sono fatta così, mi piace essere organizzata e pianificare le mie mosse. Diciamo che è il mio punto forte come stylist e il mio "m.o."*: cercare, raccogliere, pensare, pensare ancora e agire. Questo è il motivo per cui ho iniziato a immaginare a come fare un po' di spazio nel living per la culla del bambino {e successivamente per il box}..e ovviamente visto che c'ero, ho anche cambiato un po' la palette dei colori, aggiungendo del rosa-pesca {come suggerito da CF di questo mese!}. Ho spostato la panca sotto la finestra, ho aggiunto una bella tovaglia al tavolo, spostato di nuovo l'armadietto della lana e usato gli sgabelli per la tv e le altre decorazioni. La culla si inserisce perfettamente tra la porta e il divano e io trovo che sia troppo carina, che dite? La copertura è stata realizzata dalla mia amata {santa subito} nonna, il cuscino è di Tas-ka, la coperta e la piccola Penny Lane sono state fatte da me utilizzando i miei filati. Prossimo passo: cambiare la cover del divano {vorrei la versione grigio scuro} e aggiungere alcune decorazioni sul muro vicino alla culla.
