THE SELECTION changed the lives of thirty-five girls forever. Now, only one will claim Prince Maxon’s heart…

It’s swoon meets the Hunger Games in the final instalment of THE SELECTION trilogy!

For the four girls who remain at the palace, the friendships they’ve formed, rivalries they’ve struggled with and dangers they’ve faced have bound them to each other for the rest of their lives.

Now, the time has come for one winner to be chosen.

America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown – or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the competition approaches its end and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realises just how much she stands to lose – and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.

The breathtaking finale to THE SELECTION trilogy will make you swoon!

— Goodreads.com description

When I read The Selection I said: “HOW FUN IS THAT?”

Then The Elite came out, and it was more like: “Is it possible to hate every single character in a book?”

So. Yes. Maybe the tides turned a little bit on this series for me with book two, but I just HAD to know how it all ended with The One.

I was surprised by how quickly I fell back into America & Maxon & Aspen’s world and caught myself back up with the story. It wasn’t as hard to follow along as I thought. And, overall, I’m glad to have finished the series so I won’t always be wondering.

But.

It all happened too fast. Problems were resolved and characters were killed in such a speedy and bing-bang-boom manner that I didn’t have time to process any of it or have an emotional reaction. It was a little too “this happened and then this and then everything is resolved before you can really freak out over it.”

Do you know what I mean?

Sigh.

So, overall, not a winning series for me and not necessarily one I’d recommend, though it certainly is creative and entertaining. What about the rest of you? Did you give it a go? Did you have some of the pacing and plot issues I did?
