Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer SX10 Review & Swatches

Welcome to the one stop wonder. The Sensual Skin Enhancer is a multipurpose product to create a flawless face, and by far the most pigmented and full coverage product I've come across. When people say 'a little goes a long way', they need to try this - a rice grain is what you need to cover your entire face! In that way you can use this as a concealer/foundation. Nonetheless, it does take some finesse to use this properly, the best way I've found is to mix it with a moisturiser or mixer - I use the MAQPro mixing medium and depending on how much I add I can easily control the coverage. Moreover, since the consistency is an extremely thick cream/paste, the best the tool I've found is a damp Beauty Blender/buffing brush sprayed with a little water.

The shade SX10 is a good neutral colour for medium/olive complexions (You can check out my foundation shades if you scroll down a little on the right hand side of the blog). You get 18g/£38 but it will last you a lifetime, I've already divided it up into my foundation palette and given my mum a good amount and there's plenty left over! The only drawback is that is isn't the quickest product to apply and you do need to be careful not to overdo it, so if I'm in a hurry it's not the base that I go for. I have extremely dry skin so I buff it in well and then use a minuscule amount of powder in a dabbing motion to set. It will work for all skin types provided that you set it and prep your skin appropriately. The finish is natural & skin like with a little glow, but that can be changed depending on what powder you use.

This swatch amount will cover my face 3 times over! Oh and this lasts and lasts and - okay, you get the point! I'm talking 12 hours easy. I'd also like to add that even though it's so thick and the coverage can be customised, it doesn't clog your pores like some cream foundations do, so you're unlikely to break out from it, therefore making it suitable for everyday.
