It’s the day before an important event, and you suddenly develop a big, shiny, swollen red zit on your face! Don’t you just hate that? And don’t you hate it even more when that happens to be your everyday dilemma? You go to work and you interact with people six days a week and oh, by the way, your unwelcome guest brings a few more of its friends along and they all seem to have decided to take permanent residency on your face! You’re then left with a choice between leaving the nasty li’l suckers alone (even though you know people will get distracted by them), and popping every last one of them (which may not make their appearance any less distracting anyway). Either way, you know, it’s gonna rain on your parade!

So, what’s a girl to do?! Most of us turn to acne creams.

Most acne creams work best when applied at bedtime and left on the skin overnight. However, for a fast-acting and more powerful remedy, daytime application is usually necessary as well. The problem is, most creams leave white streaks on the skin, which will definitely not work out if you’re going to leave the house. In most cases, the white marks from the cream are visible even after makeup is applied, highlighting the pimples even more.

It was for this very reason that OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication should come in handy.

OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication: Covers As It Clears

I don’t normally get really bad and really many pimples, but occasionally, I would get a few on my T-Zone. I would blame it on stress or hormonal changes (whatever!) but understanding the cause of this problem isn’t any more important to me than finding the solution. I normally won’t give so much fuss about a pimple for as long as I can keep it under control, conceal it effectively (with or without makeup) and I can get rid of it quickly.

So, when I came across the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication when we were in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I quickly snatched it off the shelf without hesitation.

The active ingredient in OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication is Benzoyl Peroxide which is the most powerful and most effective over-the-counter treatment against pimples.

The OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication claim is that it “Covers As It Clears” the pimples.

The product has the consistency of a regular pimple treatment cream, just with a beige tint…

…and it’s very thin and very spreadable.

You just gotta work fast in blending it into the skin because the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication dries up quickly…

…which makes it rather difficult to blend any further, and when you’re working with any product aimed to cover up pimples, blending it well is very important so that it appears unnoticeable on the skin. As y’all can see from the photo above, the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication left visible traces on the skin.

I also noticed that it settles into the fine lines and creases of the skin.

This was the best that I could do as far as blending the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication into my skin while packing enough of it on the spots where treatment was needed. As y’all can see, it left a slightly visible yellowish residue. However, if you’d ask me, overall, it wasn’t so bad.

Conclusion

This product comes in only one shade so women with darker or significantly lighter complexion might find it difficult to work with, as far as covering the pimples goes. This issue can be overcome if the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication is applied under makeup (before the foundation), or simply used at home, when you don’t plan to go out. Anyway, it’s still not as bad as having white dots on your face which you get from a white pimple cream.

Another downside to using this product is the fact that Benzoyl Peroxide has a drying effect on the skin. As the treatment continues, the dryness may become worse and skin will even become flaky. This is all normal and should be expected when working with Benzoyl Peroxide. So, as I’ve pointed out earlier, the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication settles into fine lines and creases, and therefore will also accentuate the dry, flaky patches around the pimples. Loading up on moisturizer should help.

So, in my humble opinion, the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication will be most beneficial to those of us who want to treat their pimples and wear makeup at the same time. Application-wise, this product should be applied BEFORE the makeup foundation – NOT AFTER – not like how a regular concealer should be applied. Also, I don’t recommend that you use it as you normally would a regular concealer (like hiding dark circles around the eyes, or correcting red/dark spots) because it certainly wasn’t made for that purpose.

Just make sure to leave the OXY Cover Acne Pimple Medication on for maybe 4-5 minutes before applying your makeup foundation to give the product enough time to get into those zits.
