We’ve been coveting Charley Chau’s contemporary collection of dog beds for a while now. You only have to look at the way drowsy dogs can snooze for hours on them to know they’re the dog’s bollocks. So to coincide with the launch of their beautiful new weave fabric, you can now shop their stylish range of luxury beds and blankets in our designer store.
An upholstery fabric with a great textured finish that’s both tough and good looking – weave is available in four pared-back shades, including Linen, Pewter, and Havana. The neutral palette makes them super simple to integrate into your living space, and team them with one of their criminally comfy double fleece or faux fur dog blankets to add some extra softness.
As proud owners of a pack of petit Italian Greyhounds (Charley, Anna, Thea and Tino – yes, FOUR!) Jenny and Christine Chau, the sisters behind Charley Chau are obsessed with creating best beds known to mutt-kind. “We had always struggled with finding good quality and stylish dog bedding and Charley Chau came about when I decided to make a Snuggle Bed for my own Italian Greyhounds, who love to burrow under blankets,” says Christine.
The collection has now grown, with a style suit every hound.”Some dogs like something soft and squidgy to push their backs up against, so the Deeply Dishy Bed with deep, cosy sides is perfect for them; others like to dig and make a little nest, so a blanket bed created with one of our beautiful Greywash Rattan Baskets is ideal; and others like to just lay out flat doing the doggie starfish, in which case a simple but stunning Day Bed mattress is just what they need.”
Designed in Charley Chau’s Manchester studio and proudly made in England, each bed is thoughtfully crafted, not only to look great in your home, but also to last for ages and be easy to care for. “We have a rule that everything must be machine washable – our pet hate is beds that die the moment you put them in the washing machine!”
