Proving that it’s possible to squeeze eleven dogs in a petit West End restaurant without total pandemonium, StyleTails and dog-friendly eatery, PipsDish hosted a Dog Lovers Lunch and pop-up designer boutique last Sunday.
Sure, no one wants a smelly dog slobbering all over them while they’re trying to eat, but trying to find good restaurants that will genuinely welcome well-behaved dogs can be a chore. Putting to bed the myth that it’s illegal to bring dogs into restaurants in the UK (it’s not), StyleTails teamed up with PipsDish in Covent Garden to put on a relaxed Sunday affair for hounds and humans alike.

Arriving from all over London and beyond, peckish pooches and their people were welcomed by dog-lover and owner of PipsDish - Philip Dundas. With the sun blazing down, and a few tongues hanging out (the dogs and owners), guests cooled off with a refreshing aperitif, while a flurry of sniffing, licking and cuddling ensued.
With their simple and confident approach to cooking, Philip and the PipsDish team prepared a sumptuous three course meal, just like your would make in your own kitchen.
A Primavera soup made with fish broth, focaccia and a medley of seasonal vegetables was followed with a mouth-watering main of honey slow-roast pork or beetroot and sumac-marinated lamb rump with balsamic roast potatoes and Kentish asparagus. Finishing off with something sweet, guests tucked into a chocolate and raspberry clafouti.
The canine customers weren’t left out either – chowing down on their own mini dog’s dinner, with bowls licked clean in a matter of seconds!
Stylish hounds also had a sniff around the StyleTails mini boutique in PipsDish‘s private dining room, brimming with modern dog collars, lovely leads, beautiful beds and glorious grooming products from all our favourite brands including Bone & Rag, Charley Chau, Hiro Wolf, Hennessey & Sons and Wildwash.
