Chalkboard Team Frames

Hi PinkWhen Fans!

It’s Dee from Meatloaf and Melodrama, and I have another quick craft to share with you today. I’m a huge fan of college football, and I know that Jennifer is too, so I thought I would show you how to add a little team spirit to your home with these easy chalkboard team frames.

You can use these as message boards, menus, shopping lists or for decoration when you have people over to watch the game. Or, you can just use them as photo frames! For this project, you’ll need:

  • wood craft frames
  • ribbon
  • chalkboard paint
  • acrylic paint
  • wood letters
  • paintbrushes
  • your favorite glue

First, you’ll need to take the photo frame apart and paint the cardboard insert with chalkboard paint. These frames do not have glass, so they work very well as chalkboards. The insert is thick and glossy, and it holds up well with two coats of chalkboard paint.

Then, paint the frames and the letters, using your favorite team’s colors. Since I’m sharing this on PinkWhen, I thought it would be appropriate to use Louisiana State’s colors, so I used purple and gold. I also made a frame for my favorite team, and I’ll show you that one at the end.

I used purple and gold ribbons to make a little bow, and I glued this to the top corner of the frame.

Then, I glued the letters on the frame and put the chalkboard insert back in the frame. That’s all there is to it — easy peasy!

And, here is the one I made for Arizona State. How convenient that both teams use gold as one of their colors!

Are you ready to watch some football? I know I am! Thanks for having me over again, Jennifer.

Have an awesome day!

*So happy to have you over again Dee! I can’t wait to make one and put it out for our first neighborhood party.
