Our Egg-citing week!

This week has been a little stressful! The energy level is always high when we are hatching eggs, but this year we may have hit an all time high!
So... on Tuesday our sweet Pre-K teacher came running into my classroom before school and said, "Help! There is something wrong with the chicks that are hatching!!! They are not looking right (then told me some details that I will spare you of). I jumped up to help her, but as I got closer to her room, I knew I could not handle it. So I turned around and started running down the hall (in the opposite direction) calling for another teacher who was braver than me. I may or may not have been flapping my arms and screetching like Prissy from Gone with the Wind!
Then my eggs started to hatch... I was fortunate! My babies turned out fine.
Many in my building were not so lucky. It appears there was a problem in the incubation process prior to the eggs reaching our building. It has been a tragic week.
However... my students have not been aware of this and they have enjoyed my babies! They went home to their new family last night... Can I get an A-MEN?!
We are loving our Oviparous poem and writing in our thinking journal {from Deanna Jump's interactive journals}.

Our morning work has been all about eggs!

And if you ever want to know what your students are doing while you are meeting with your small group, let them take pictures with your iPhone (I have a gazillion to delete!) Here is the overhead station... they love this old school technology!
This is from the Time Me! Station, Writing Station, Super Sentences (pocket chart) Station, and Sequence Station.
Only one more alarm clock separates me from a week of spring break... woo hoo!
Have a great day!
